Born and raised in Japan, Thomas Carrick has spent the majority of his career in financial markets. Most recently he was Managing Director and founding partner of Teneo Partners Japan Limited, a securities firm focusing on alternative funds distribution to Japanese institutions. Prior to that he was Managing Director of Westpac Securities Japan and held various positions within the Westpac group both in Tokyo and Sydney. Carrick started his career in the financial markets at Daiwa Securities head office in Tokyo covering both domestic and foreign institutions on fixed income products. Fluent in Japanese, he has developed strong relationships with a wide range of Japanese corporate and financial institutions, serving in a consultancy capacity on numerous international projects.

David Satterwhite has lived a cumulative 49 years in Japan, having been raised in Kyoto and professionally engaged in three successive careers in Tokyo. Having earned graduate degrees (MA and Ph.D.) from the University of Washington in Seattle, with specialization in Politics and Political-Economy, Japan and Korea, over the past 23 years he has appeared frequently in media interviews and commentary, primarly on macro-economic and political trends in Japan and NE Asia. As Managing Director of The Economist Group's Japan Office (1997-2004 - affiliated with The Economist of London), he organized a dozen cutting-edge international conferences in Japan and Korea on topics ranging from Automotives, Trends in IT, Health Care Reform, and Roundtables with the Government of Japan (attended by, among others, former PM Koizumi, Steve Ballmer, and Carlos Ghosn), and hosted over 70 off-the-record Economist Corporate Network sessions for C-level executives, introducing such speakers as Mr Hiroshi Mikitani of Rakuten, Inc. Alexander Niser, Cultural Affairs Advisor
Born in Belgium and raised in Germany, Niser worked at the Hilton Hotel in Brussels before moving to Sydney, Australia to complete his higher education where he achieved his BA in Business Management at Charles Sturt University.
In Japan since 2001, he worked for the Intellectual Property Dept. of Aisin Engineering, proofreading patents before joining the International Laws & Regulations Department of Aisin Seiki, working as an Overseas Regulations Officer in Kariya, Aichi Pref.
Having a keen interest for the Japanese country side, he then joined the Southern Nagano Regional Revitalization team as an Inbound Manager and has since appeared in multiple newspaper and magazine articles.
He fluently speaks English, German, French, Japanese and Italian.
